Another segment of the property market is the high rise buildings. The phenomenal growth, seen in this segment, has made a dramatic impact on the sky line, especially in & around Colombo. As is evident in the housing sector, the high rises too cater to various categories of customers. The very modest constructions are handled by the state, for the lesser privileged & the public sector employees. There onwards the sky seems to be the limit. Both local & foreign constructors have been trying to out do each other, to grab a share of this booming market.
